American Eagle Begins Service Between New York Laguardia and Halifax, Nova Scotia

American Eagle, the regional affiliate of American Airlines, will add nonstop service between New York LaGuardia Airport and Halifax International Airport, beginning Dec. 14, 2006. American Eagle will operate one daily round-trip flight between the two cities using 37-seat Embraer 135 regional jet aircraft.
“This new service will give travelers in Eastern Canada additional access to New York and will allow them to take advantage of new U.S. Customs pre-clearance procedures in Halifax,” said American Eagle President Peter Bowler. “The combination of our new service to LaGuardia Airport and the introduction of pre-clearance in Halifax of U.S. Customs and Immigration allows our customers to avoid clearing customs at JFK, regardless of which airport they choose to enter the United States. It also provides our New York customers a second point of departure from which to access the beautiful province of Nova Scotia.”

American Eagle also will continue to serve Halifax from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport with two daily round trips. The LaGuardia service will allow passengers from Halifax to connect to East Coast and Midwest cities in the Eagle and American network.
